REMEMBER THE JOURNEY!!

2001, here we come!
This is the online conference center,
home of AV2K.

Meet one of our hosts,
Bruce Damer, aka "Digigardener"
Check out the official conference website at www.ccon.org.

Here is Sun, Michael, Michel, Allan, & Bruce's forehead. We were seen live by webcam by the AV2K online participants. Who says using computers makes people anti-social? We had a ball, including music, food, laughs, and creative expression. Small is beautiful when it comes to local nodes of the online party.

In virtual space, people clustered, chatted, danced, waved, listened to presenters guide them through virtual distance learning seminars, and showed off their Avvy fashions.

Welcome to the webcam hub of the space station where one could view live image streams from around the world. .

Time for the avatars to gather round and see who won the Avvy awards. Here is one of the contestants who caught our eye. Ready everyone? And the winner is...

"Carter," for best humanoid avatar. Check out "AV2K, THE MOVIE" for winners from other categories, like best weird avatar.

When all the events were over, the space station was dismantled by cyber organisms who ate it for dinner! Once the space station was gone, the attending avatars fell through a wormhole to a party at the end of the universe, a profound and beautiful experience. Thank you Contact Consortium, for a most satisfying and creative event. See you again next year!
